The special roof structure of the House of Hungarian Music has been completed. Its unique and organic form will make it into an iconic sign expected to boost Budapest’s tourism appeal, said László Baán, ministerial commissioner for the Liget Budapest Project. The playfully undulating roof structure varying in thickness remains under the level of the City Park’s foliage thus the building will blend into its natural environment.

With the underground phase completed, construction has begun on the above-ground portion of the House of Hungarian Music. Part of the Liget Budapest Project, work on the building is proceeding at a swift pace, said Benedek Gyorgyevics, CEO of Városliget Zrt. Within one year, the remarkable building designed by world-renowned Japanese star architect Sou Fujimoto to occupy the former site of the Hungexpo office building will be structurally complete.
